GRESB Reporting and Assurance
What is GRESB?
GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) reporting is an evaluation system for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in the real estate and infrastructure sectors. GRESB provides a standardized and comparable reporting framework that allows investors and asset managers to measure and compare the sustainability of their real estate portfolios. Sustainability is measured based on a specific scoring model.
What does GRESB assurance mean?
GRESB reporting includes areas where the reporter can gain additional points according to the scoring model if the reported data is assured by an independent party. For example, assurance of consumption data related to properties (water, energy, waste, and carbon emissions) impacts the scoring according to the GRESB model. The popularity of GRESB report assurance has been increasing and is likely to continue growing in the near future.
